VFX Proposal

Proposal A:  Levitation

An Autistic person is sitting on the edge of the bed rocking back and forth with their hand twitching. Small scattered blue and white particles begin to form and circle around the person.  Then the objects from the table and shelving unit begin to lift off and circle around as well.

Story Board:

Scene 1 - Person is rocking back and forth on bed.

Scene 2 - Close up of person rocking back and forth with background blurred and blue particles beginning to form.

Scene 3 - Items begin lifting off the shelf with blue particles.

Scene 4 - Person is rocking back and forth on bed as objects and particles spin around the room.

Aspects required for video:

  • ·         Video footage of person sitting in room rocking back and forth
  • ·         Moving camera starting on left side of person and rotating around to right side
  • ·         Objects on surfaces modeled and textured
  • ·         Blue particles and objects moving around the person with dynamics

Proposal B: (I would rather wait until after this semester to work on this)

Guy walks out into the street and slides on a pair of tap shoes.  As soon as he begins tapping everything begins to shake and the ground begins to crack.  The camera would cut to a close up of pebbles bouncing across the ground and then to a car as the alarm goes off.  When the camera cuts back to the guy he finishes by stomping his foot down in front of him which sends out a shock wave of damage to the ground around him.  The last camera cut would start focused on his foot surrounded by smoke and debris and moves up to finish focused on his face.

Aspects required for video:
  • Video footage of guy tap dancing in front of green screen.
  • Video footage of car alarm going off.
  • Photo of street taken into maya and layed out
  • Dynamics of ground erupting outwards
  • Smoke effects add after
  • Compositing
Reference:

The scene with Thor smashing the ground is an exaggerated example of the ground breaking outward.

Fast forward to the 2:38 mark. This is the person that would be doing the tap dancing.

Time Table:

Weeks 1-3:  VFX Proposal
Week 4:  Finalize Idea and refine time table

Weeks 7-9: Create scene in maya and make the dynamics
Week 10:  finish all pieces of project including dynamics
Weeks 11-14:  Rendering and compositing
Week 15: final touches
